What Is a Rope Hammock?

A rope hammock is a sling made of rope and it's usually suspended between two (2) points or four (4) point stands. Most Americans love to have one of these in the outdoors during the summer to enjoy the warmth the weather comes with. It is majorly used for sleeping and relaxing in the outdoors of households. But, the military, NASA, and truck drivers have also adopted this new style of relaxing, implementing to optimize the use of space, to make mobility easy, and also reduce the injuries that may occur if a bunk bed was used for example on a ship.

It is not uncommon to see long distance truck drivers have at least one rope hammock attached to the bottom of their truck because at some point one has to rest and of course sleeping a hammock is more safe and comfortable than sleeping in the driver’s seat of the truck.
Currently, rope hammocks are available in a wide variety, as technology improves by the day, the better the quality of the materials been used in making it, hence the wider the areas of application. Some hammocks are designed especially for camping they may include mosquito nets to protect the user from dangerous insects.
There are also hammocks made with materials that are thin and of low weight making them ideal for trips during the day. Additional components of the hammocks are self-standing structures that help hold the hammock in place.

The rope hammocks are usually hand crafted simply by making weaves of cotton rope to form a hammock. These woven ropes are manufactured using carefully and deliberate selections of cotton yarn, after choosing the right cotton yarn, they are then spun into the ropes used in making the hammock. The choice of cotton makes the hammock bed have a soft feeling on the sleeper’s skin.
